This exhibit highlighted the importance of music in indigenous and pre-Colombian cultures of the Americas and was the Museum’s first temporary exhibit. Mounted in the second floor gallery of the Museum’s north wing, the exhibit displayed a variety of musical instruments made and played by the peoples of the Americas such as drums, wind instruments and rattles. The display was accompanied by audio tracks reproducing the sounds of the instruments on display.
