This exhibit explored the rich legacy of rock art in Chile, from the gigantic geoglyphs of the Atacama Desert to the hand paintings of Patagonia. The exhibit consisted of a series of large photographs of petroglyphs and pictographs accompanied by sketches that linked them to the economic, social and ideological aspects of local cultures. Life-size photographs of the rock art panels of Taira welcomed visitors at the entrance to the exhibit. From 1983 to 1991, a smaller version of this exhibit was shown around Chile and abroad.
