This exhibit explored ways in which color was used in the artwork of different societies of the Americas. It highlighted, for example, how color was used to mark differences between men and women or among different groups of people, how it was used in creation myths and in transmitting esthetic values. The exhibit focused mainly on two of Chile’s largest indigenous groups: the Mapuche of southern Chile and the Aymara of the north.
